About Mike

Mike Gallagher’s career in the real estate mortgage industry spans 18 years. Mike has held a Vice President position with Bank of America in San Francisco and a VP position with NorthMarq Capital in Palo Alto before opening his own mortgage company, Avantis Capital, in 2004.

Mike joined forces with Western Bancorp as Area Sales Manager in January, 2011. “The decision for me was easy.  Joining the Western Bancorp team would ultimately allow me to serve my clients better.  Local underwriting, fast approval decisions, loan programs not available with any other lender, and best pricing.  In the end, I have better tools to serve my clients more effectively.”

Mike holds an MBA in Finance and has arranged financing in excess of $550 million in his career, including residential, multi-family, office and retail. 

Mike holds the Certified Mortgage Planning Specialist (CMPS) designation, is a member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, and is a member of the California Association of Mortgage Professionals.

Not only is Mike committed to serving his clients, but with his wife Janelle, is focused on improving the lives of children in their community through a variety of charitable avenues, including Zuzu’s Petals, a non-profit they founded in 2007. Mike is also the proud father of two young girls.
